This Eames classic was first seen in 1949 according to manufacturers Vitra and Hermann Miller, but the Eames official website and MoMa say it was 1950. Perhaps upon completion the celebrations were so spectacular that no one can quite remember when it was made. But if you’re looking for a stylish way to store everything, look no further than the Eames Storage Unit. Designed by Ray and Charles Eames, the storage unit was built with a modern industrial design ethos, to embrace the materials it is made from, and to be mass produced as an everyman’s unit. Today, I’m pretty sure everyman wouldn’t go near the price tag. The ESU is modular and can be easily adapted to fit your home or office storage needs.
