In 1962 Finnish designer Eero Aarnio sat down to create a large chair for his home. A year later in 1963, one of the most iconic chairs of the 60s would be released.
The Ball Chair is recognisable to everyone for it’s many film and television appearances. Whether it’s being used to create a 60s feel as in Austin Powers or it’s establishing a futuristic aesthetic as in countless Sci-fi films, its certainly entered our collective conciousness.
Some of the newer versions of this chair even feature additions like built in audio and mp3 players. It’s “cubby house” qualities make it perfect for kids but we personally think it could be adapted to make the ultimate console gaming chair.
