Parabel is the German form of Parabola. Whilst the more mathematically inclined may start thinking y=x² and self supporting structures, we don’t know for certain if the forms of this piece are mathematically derived or only referential based on the resemblance.
Eero Aarnio is known for creating ground breaking forms from fibreglass (his favourite material to work with), and the Parabel Table is a perfect example of Aarnio’s mastery of the material.
Made from a glossy fibreglass, the table features an organic, gravity defying form that is also incredible durable, stable and easy to clean.
The Parabel Table was first designed in 1994, and the Dining table (pictured) was added to his collection in 2002. The table is large enough to seat up to 6 people, and partners perfectly with Aarnio’s Focus Chair, which has been designed with this table in mind.
Aarnio prefers the table to only be manufactured in white, as this colour shows the table’s beautiful lines to it’s best advantage. Manufactured by Adelta.
