We speak with Swedish instagrammer @Farfars_Lampa. She has created a home with modern chic and balanced it with a human warmth. By mixing bold hand designed textures with mid-century classics, she has found a voice which is all her own, yet undeniably Scandinavian.
Your Instagram account name:
Can you tell us your country/city?
Stockholm / Sweden
What inspires you?
Classic design that lasts for decades. I love the 50’s and the 60’s. I have always loved beautiful things and I’m on the lookout for new inspiring objects all the time, often at Auctions or Flea markets.
What would your mission statement be for your home?
Less is more. A mix of old and new classics.
Name your 3 favourite designers?
What is the favourite piece of design in your home?
That must be our Ball chair in the TV-room. Everyone’s favourite in the family. It absorbs noise and you can really relax in it.
What’s your favourite room and why?
That varies, right now it is the TV-room upstairs.
What future plans do you have for your place?
We have been living in this house for about 12 years and have renovated it for… 12 years. 🙂
The house is old, over 100 years, has three floors and was in quite bad shape when we moved in so it has been quite a journey. We always have new ideas and plans. Our next big plan involves a tower. A tower was a part of this house but burned down sometime around 1930 and was never rebuilt.
When not making your home beautiful, what are you spending your time doing?
We also have a Summer House in the Alandic archipelago. A house from the 60’s, also in big need of renovation when we moved in…. so when we are not home renovating we are at our summer house… renovating. 🙂
But of course we find time to do other stuff too, we love to travel and try to get away at least 2-3 times a year.
Our favourite places right now are Barcelona and Palma.
