by Finn Juhl
During the 1990s, the world of furniture design was a very different place. Industry legends such as Finn Juhl had been sidelined from the mainstream. He was a curiosity to be discussed amongst art and design historians as an important pioneer, but not someone relevant to the then and now.
It was in 1998 that Juhl’s widow would contact OneCollection to recreate his model 57 sofa. The results were so successful and true to the original that they would start recreating Juhl’s other designs. Today Juhl’s work lives on through the craftsmanship and manufacturing capability of One Collection who have restored not just his furniture, but his legacy and name to the international market.
The 46 Sofa was designed unsurprisingly in 1946. It was originally manufactured by a smaller Danish company called Carl Brørup. Juhl originally designed this as a matching sofa / table set with his 4850 Eyetable. Today the 46 is still available through One Collection.
