D.655.1 Chest of Drawers
Gio Ponti is known as one of the most influential figures in italian architecture and design. Not only has he designed many international buildings, and interior furnishings, he also ran two successful design magazines and lectured at Milan university.
Ponti created several versions of the D.655.1 chest of drawers for use in his personal home in Via Dezza, Milan, between the years 1952 and 1955. The unique chest features handles made from elm, walnut, mahogany and rosewood.
Italian furniture company Molteni have worked closely with Ponti’s heirs to re-release the #cabinet to its original specifications from 2012.
