These two Lovebirds are a symbol of affection and friendship. Designer Kay Bojesen would give these to his friends long before they were made available to the public.
A Danish Silversmith by training and Georg Jensen apprentice, Bojesen would shift his focus and put his energies into wooden toys after the birth of his first son. Today, his toys are what he’s best remembered for.
It is generally thought that these #birds first emerged during the 1950s but the exact year is unknown. The Lovebirds are still available today from the company named after the man: Kay Bojesen.
