Marimekko are best known for the bold textiles which have become iconic of both the 60s and Scandinavian fashion. Since partnering with fellow Finnish design house Iittala, both companies have been able to expand their range of products by drawing on the others manufacturing expertise.
Because Marimekko now share a high-end ceramics factory in Thailand with Iittala, their beautiful prints are now available on homewares.
The Oiva tableware range designed by Sami Ruotsalainen has served as the canvas for many of these designs. The very bold Siirtolapuutarha & Räsymatto patterns were designed in 2009 by Maija Louekari.
Today these and many more instantly recognisable Marimekko prints are available on cups, plates and bowls from Marimekko.
