This Pendant light was originally designed in 1952 , as a collaborative work between the Louis Poulsen light company and the Danish Navy (Søværnets Bygningsdistrikt) department. Originally titled the Navy light in reference to it’s origins, it wasn’t all just good looks.
The shapely cover had unique light properties, reflecting and directing light in 3 directions which made it popular amongst the public. While these lights were discontinued during the 1980’s, demand for them grew with collectors scouring antique shops and auctions.
It’s only in 2012 that Louis Poulsen re-released this Pendant light under the name Doo-wop. It now comes with a range of colours/metal covers to suit a variety of interior settings.
